D1: Arrival in Dunhuang

Our guide will pick you up at Dunhuang airport and transfer to the hotel. after lunch we will visit the world famous treasure house of Buddhism—Mogao Grottoes ，Constructed over a millennium, from the 4th to the 14th centuries, the caves hold the world's richest treasure house of Buddhist sutras, murals and sculptures.Cameras are not permitted.They are the greatest and most consummate repository of historical and cultural collection over a thousand years betweenChinaand other nations. The most noted collections are many pilgrims painted murals, Clay statues and 50,000 manuscripts written in many languages.

D2: Dunhuang

After breakfast we will drive across the Gobi desert to visit the  important relics on the silk road- Yumen Pass ，Jade Gate Pass was a strategic fort on the ancient Silk Road. It was so named because the jade of the  Xinjiang region was transported to Central China through this frontier pass. Together with the fort at Yang Pass (Yang Guan) it protected Dunhuang against invasion from the west..Visit the best preserved Han Dynasty Great wall ，It was build for defending the nomadic Xiongnu during the Han Dynasty (206 BC--220 AD), which is more then 1500years earlier than Ming Dynasty Great Wall.The remains of the Han’s Wall and nearby severl Beacon Tower and firewood Fossils are standing in the lonely desert . D3: Dunhuang-jiayuguan

Visit the natural miracle in the desert – Sand Dunes and Crescent Moon Lake after breakfast, where you can enjoy the camel riding like the traders on the ancient Silk Road.Crescent Moon Spring is 6km south of Dunhuang in the Singing  Sands Mountains and is quite literally an oasis in the desert. The spring's name derives from the crescent moon shape taken by the small pool of spring water between two large sand dunes. Although the area is very dry, the pool doesn't dry up as one might expect

-The Crescent Lake : The lake and the Sounding Sand Dune which can make sounds when the wind passes are located in the place where the sand and the oasis meet.

 Drive to Jiayuguan in the afternoon (B-L-D)

D4: Departure form Jiayuguan

Visit the  Jiayuguan Pass in the morning.This Ming Dynasty fort guards the strategic Jiayuguan pass, at the western end of the Great Wall – this was the last section built by the Ming Dynasty. It was built in 1372, and subsequently enlarged and strengthened, and was known as 'the strongest pass under heaven. See you off at jiaygguan airport . (B)
